Releases

April 4, 2013: Minor Update 15.6.32

  • Enhancements

    • Major Duplicate Management/Elimination Enhancements:

      • Email Integration. Added Email duplicate checking when integrating Emails. On multi-user environments, the same email was being set to multiple people resulting on multiple copies of it in the history

        • Resolution: 123 Sync identifies matching emails in the history and will not create duplicates if a match is found. Pretty cool....

      • Duplicate Contacts: We've seen iPhones and many other smartphones create duplicate contacts when synchronizing back with Outlook/Exchange. This tends to happen when the contact folder is cleared on the Exchange server and then synched.

        • Resolution: We now have a duplicate identifier so that when contacts are added from Exchange back into Act!, we take the correct actions. Awesome.

      • Duplicate Calendar Items: The beauty of smartphones is that they take actions on their own cognizance. The bad part about this is that calendar items are created directly from Emails and from other actions that are not checked with the Exchange or Cloud server. This results on duplicate items being created in exponential form.

        • Resolution: 123 Sync provides a duplicate identifier and eliminates the creation of rogue duplicates when synchronizing with Act!. Result: no duplicates and a much cleaner Act! database.

  • Bug Fixes

    • Exchange Only Installations. Fixed an issue with our where depending on the Exchange configuration, the Mapi component of 123 Sync (deletions and email integration) was not working. That is now fixed. Works like a charm.

      • Workaround: If you do not want to upgrade and 123 Sync failes to delete, there is a workaround. In the Tools->Adbanced->Settings->Methodologies, disable all the Mapi methodologies and 123 Sync will work fine.

  • Full Version Download. Download it from our download page at 123sync.com.

Feb 26, 2013: Minor Update 15.6.14

  • Enhancements

    • Office 365, Hotmail Optimization. Extensive optimization techniques as well as elimination of duplicate processing were either re-designed or newly implemented. The outcome is that once the first 2 syncs occur, 123 Sync can sync incredibly quickly to the cloud.

    • Testing, testing, testing. 123 Sync has undergone extensive multi-user testing using iPad/iPhone in a cloud environment with amazing results. Not only did the testing allow us to optimize our product but it also re-enforced our belief that this incredibly versatile product is the absolute best for cloud synchronization with Act!.

Feb 12, 2013: Minor Update 15.6.10

  • Enhancement

    • Calendar/Tasks sync redirection option. You can specify whether certain types of Activities go to the Tasks or to the Calendar folder. This allows you to change destination of the Act! activities by type.

    • Added Outlook Clear and Delete tools.

      • Why is this new feature important? These tools allow users/admin to clear or delete folders without going into Outlook.

    • Bug Fixes/Improvements

      • Fixed bugs when upgrading and synchronizing to existing Outlook folders. In some configurations, a discrepancy could arouse and items in Outlook could be deleted.

Jan 24, 2013: Minor Update 15.6.7

  • Enhancement

    • Added Outlook Folder Copy Tool

      • Why is this new feature important? This tool allows users to make a copy of the Calendar, Contacts and Tasks folder. So before you sync Act! with an existing set of folders, you can make a full copy of the data that is there. No Outlook needed.

    • Bug Fixes/Improvements

      • Deleted Exchange/Outlook items check performance improvement. Performance has become an issue with the expanded implementation of 123 Sync to sync with Office 365. Specially when 2-way sync is enabled with delete checking. Well, we managed to improve the performance by about 10x.

Jan 3, 2013: Major Update 15.6.4

  • Enhancement (Major)

    • Added Activities Sync Filtering

      • Why is this new feature important? This new feature is important because it allows users to:

        • Keep user calendars clean from unwanted calendar items

        • Manage calendar sync items by type, whether standard or custom.

        • Create custom Activities and include/exclude them from the sync

        • Create custom activities from Outlook/Exchange/Smartphones by simply entering the activity name into the subject line

        • Enhance the prospect and attraction of synchronizing Act! with the smartphones.Synchronizing Act! with Smartphones is equivalent of information overload and addition of unnecessary data to an already cluttered cell phone. Using Activities filtering enables users to control the information.

        • Provide a comprehensive environment for Act! Activities sync.

    • Bug Fixes/Improvements

      • Hardened the activities sync with extra checks when the Exchange/Outlook folder goes offline and returns errors. Also, in this process, part of the matching algorithm was rewritten so that in case external sync software removes or blocks the Outlook/Exchange folders, 123 Sync will not delete or duplicate the items in Act! dues to non-accessibility.

      • Hardened the Contacts sync also in the same way as the activities.

  • To download

    • Full Version Download. Download it from our download page at 123sync.com. The patch is already included in this version. If you are running 123 Sync 15.2 or later, all your settings will be maintained.

November 15, 2012: Update 15.4.0.2

  • Enchancements (Many, this time)

    • Email Status Manager. This new tool runs with 123 Sync Windows Service and analyzes the log file for any errors and if there are any, it sends an Email to the 123 Sync Admin with the log and the nature of the error. Really cool.

    • Opening Old Log Files. We have found that some of our customers have a hard time opening the processing log in the 123 Sync Working Folder. 123 Sync now offers the list of log files that you want to open.

    • Sync Exchange Folder. Many of our customers have Hosted Exchange (or Office 365) and want to sync to these folders through the Outlook interface. 123 Sync now forces Outlook to sync with Exchange at the end of the sync. You need to enable this option on the Tools->Advanced->Settings

    • Leave Outlook Open option. We have seen in some Windows 2003 servers with outlook 2003 that Outlook has to remain open so that the sync completes successfully. You can now have this option enabled in 123 Sync.

  • Bug Fixes

    • Calendar Only, Group Only, and Contacts with Calendar filters.

      • Problem. Items were not being synched back from Outlook/Exchange due to the modifications not being found by 123 Sync. Fixed. Any and All contact and calendar items are synched independent of how the filters are set.

October 18, 2012: Update 15.3.0.18

  • Bug Fix

    • New Installation Fix (.framework not found error).

      • In some installs, 123 Sync would not find the correct Act! version number, causing a framework error when the Act! database is opened. Fixed.

  • Enchancements

    • Hosted Exchange Enhancement. In some server installations, Outlook has to be left open due to security login as well as for other operational considerations. 123 Sync now offers an option to leave Outlook open or closed when the sync is running on a server. In the past, Outlook was always closed at the end of the sync.
